Important Update: Due to the surge in coronavirus cases, the CPM Board has elected to postpone this fall’s EVM World in-person event. CPM continues to monitor reports of the global health pandemic, and most recently the Delta variant, and its impact on in-person event gatherings, resulting in this difficult decision. The good news is, we are planning alternatives! Stay tuned for more details about a potential virtual EVM World and other online events to engage our active community.

CPM’s Professional Education Program (PEP) provides a solid foundation in the principles and data analysis techniques of earned value management (EVM). You will gain a deeper understanding of the key concepts and processes of Integrated Program Management (IPM) and how to apply them. Each PEP course provides 7.5 hours of professional development units (PDUs).
Each course, taught by an experienced industry leader, provides significant insights into one of five disciplines:
- Project Management
- Schedule Management
- Earned Value Management
- Earned Value Metrics & Analysis
- Technical Management
Professional Education Program
The College of Performance Management (CPM) provides training seminars as a key element of its professional education program (PEP). The training program provides opportunities to improve basic and intermediate Integrated Program Performance Management (IPPM) knowledge and abilities. Key to our program is gaining a solid foundation in the principles of IPPM and EVM and a thorough understanding of data analysis techniques. Data analysis allows management to identify early deviations from plans and to take timely and effective corrective action. The integration of performance management, technical metrics and risk management processes are then introduced to the student. Our Education program includes the latest guidance and “best practices” from the leading IPPM and EVM professionals. Our Education provides guidance for implementing performance management that is both effective for management and efficient for all programs. To satisfy training needs, the training program focuses on proven and effective processes that are broadly applicable in both industry and the federal government. Our capstone course integrates all of these elements and concludes with in-depth classes on how IPPM is implemented in both the public and private sectors.
The training program structure, consisting of six core areas or courses, CPM 100 – 500, is presented at each of the conferences. The areas of study in the Professional Education Program Training Seminars include the following courses:
- CPM 100 – Principles of Integrated Performance Management
- CPM 200 – Structuring Programs for Performance Management
- CPM 300 – Integrated Scheduling Principles
- CPM 400 – Integrated Baseline Planning and Maintenance
- CPM 500 – Performance Measurement and Analysis
Individual course certificates will be awarded for the successful completion of each of the individual course exams, (e.g., CPM 200.) Testing material is based directly upon Training Seminars presented at the current conference. Examinations will be held at the conference site after completion of the conference on Friday, November 5th from 2:30 – 5:30 pm. The testing location will be posted during the conference.
Individuals may continue their progress toward earning the Graduate Training Certificate in IPPM by successfully completing testing in each of the five areas (previous tests apply) and by submitting your record of attendance at eight College of Performance Management conference symposia presentations or by writing a paper on College of Performance Management-approved integrated project management subject.
