The Professor of the Year Award is given to a faculty member or an adjunct professor. The awardee demonstrates an excellence in teaching, has published academic papers, or books in the area of performance management. The awardee also conducts research in the area of performance management.

CPM is proud to announce its first Professor of the Year Award.

CPM is proud to award Dr. Homayoun Khamooshi, the first Professor of the Year Award.  Homayoun is the Chair of the Project Management Program in the Department of Decision Sciences in the School of Business at George Washington University. 

Homayoun began his career as a project engineer and project manager in the oil, gas, and petrochemical sector for NIOC (Iran) while pursuing his doctorate at Lancaster University in the United Kingdom.  Prior to joining George Washington University, he worked for the University of Northampton in the UK as a principal lecturer and program director.

He has numerous publications in juried journals from the Journal of Operational Research Society to the International Journal of Construction Management. During his career, he has served as a member of the editorial board of a number of academic and professional journals, including IEEE, the International Journal of Project Management, Project Management Journal, the Journal of Operational Research Society, and the Journal of Construction and Engineering Management.

He consults and has conducted numerous executive education and training programs worldwide, including at I2P2M, NIH, SAIC, FGV, and NIOC to name just a few.

His academic interests span project performance management, strategic project management, project risk analysis and management, planning and scheduling, and simulation-based business modeling.
